Ritual Tools:
All tools should be cleansed, consecrated, and charged before use during rites.


The Cauldron:
Seen as a symbol of the Goddess and fertility. Becomes the female symbol for the Great Rite. Used in magick that involves the materialization of a need. A focal point on the altar. Element is Water.

The Cup/Chalice:
Like the cauldron, a symbol of the Goddess and fertility. It's element is also Water. Usually contains the libations taken after rites.

Besom/Broom:
Used to cleanse the circle of negative influences before rites. It is also a protective device. I always have a broom hung over the front door of my home. Represents the element Water.

The Crystal Sphere:
Used for scrying into during divination. Often placed on the altar as a symbol of the Goddess and her Lunar aspect. Represents the element Water.

The Wand:
Used as an invocation device to call apon the Goddess and God. Also used to direct energy or cast a circle. Represents the element Air.

The Pentacle:
Used to protect, and to sometimes call the Gods and Goddesses. Very ancient, sacred, and powerful symbol. Great for consecration of tools and amulets. Represents the four elements surmoumted by the Spirit. Element is Earth.

The Ritual Knives:
Athame: Used like the wand, to direct energy and cast the circle. Element is Fire.

Bolline: Used for practical, yet magickal purposes. (cutting herbs, etc.)

Other tools:

Censer: An incense burner, placed before the deity images on the altar. Element is Air.

Bell: Ringing the bell is often used to call apon the Goddess. Also used to dispel evil spirits before ritual.

Book of Shadows: A witches book containing spells, invocations, correspondences, laws of magick, etc.
